1955 BRISTOL KSW6G UHY384 , 8336

UHY384 is one of a large number of Bristol KSW type buses that became the standard for The Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company and Bristol Omnibus Company during the nineteen fifties. Entering service in 1955 she has a 6-cylinder Gardner diesel engine and a five speed manual gearbox, with no power steering: for passenger comfort on longer distance country services there were sixty seats, a platform with conductor operated doors and saloon heaters. Much of her working life was spent in the Weston-super-Mare area.

After a normal working life UHY384 became a driver training bus, a role she continued when she passed to a private driver training company. She was acquired by Geoff Green and then passed to Alan Peters and Mike Walker: during 2005 she was refurbished inside, repanelled and repainted outside and is presented as she would have looked when she was delivered in order to celebrate her 50th birthday.
